Earth

Hi guys!!

I'm back again! This time with a realistic earth picture. I made it following the BlenderGuru tutorials as always... but I think that it would be a great model for my future projects.

Now I'm thinking how to join all my work in just one little scene...

So, stay tuned to the next post!

Character animation

Hi guys!!

What's up? Finally I've received my Blender Fundation DVDs!! So I started working in a new area called character animation. It's pretty hard to give life to a character in a natural way, but these first animations where to get in touch and speed up in the new enviroment.

It took me just a couple of hours to do these examples. I know that there are pretty simple but as I said, this is only the begining. I hope you will like it.

See you soon!!

P.D: The characters used here are taken from the Blender Fundations DVD (Biped and Jim). Anyone can buy it from here.

Urtzai's blending!

I still waiting some DVDs so that's why I spent my last 3 hours reading/ watching tutorials and also struggling with lighting and compositing. I wanted to do some indirect light scene combined with small glow effect. I followed the next tuto to get the result of the image: http://cg.tutsplus.com/tutorials/blender/using-indirect-lighting-in-blender-2-5/

And that was the result of this boring afternoon I hope you'll enjoy. Leave your comments please!

Microscopic virus

Today I couldn't stay doing anything so that's why I finished with this new work. Actually is not only my creation since I've followed one Blender Cookie tutorial for that.

But the purpose of this render was just to practise a DOF (Depth of Field) and some new cool features that brings the new Blender 2.5, such as modifiers.

So I hope you'll enjoy this picture!!

Here you have in HD: http://flic.kr/p/8SDVbH

Android World

IHave been long since I post the last work due to some inconveniences but at the end  I can present  you my last creation. One of my objective was to create an entire scene with all the elements included such as characters, particle systems, good lighting...

This scene took it up a lot of resources from my computer so that's why I didn't make any animation in this particular case. Besides I think still I haven't got the necessary skills to face that kind of goals.

However, I'm waiting some DVD and books from Blender.org and I hope I'll do it better the next time :)

For those who wanna see the picture in high quality here you've got the picture in HD: http://flic.kr/p/8RPGNS

Thank you everyone for your comments!!

New allied fighter

Hi everyone!!

This is the last ship I've made. As you can see, It's my first HD video in YouTube! I made inspired in Star Wars spaceships but with some own stuff. Maybe you already have realized that the model it's somehow a low poly design. That's because I realized that with my laptop I can not render big amounts of polygons so I'm trying to reduce details in the models as possible I can, to then don't spend all my life rendering for a few minutes film.

So, now I'm gonna start with the other side (dark side jejeje) stuff. First of all, I will make the other fighter, and then, my biggest challenge... the mother ship.

I will see you soon!!!

Space ship RC 1

Hi everybody!!

I've been working on the first space station for my movie in the last few days, and this is the first result. As you can see, it hasn't got textures... even there are some points that I have to work. But, I made this little video, to get your impressions and take some feedback.

In the other hand, I would like to say that, you are totally free to suggest parts of the film, ideas of textures... or such a things like a spaceship's name.

Thank you for your comments, there are all welcome!!

My first Sci-fi scene

Hi guys!

Here I'm again! I bring you a new space scene in Beta phase. This is the first idea of the film's beginning, but there are a few things missing there. First of all, I wanna put some space stations or spaceships between the moon and the earth. I don't know if I will put them fighting or just approaching to the camera... but anyway, there will be some movement over there.

If some one has an idea it will be welcome! Leave the comments!!

Mechanic robot

Hello guys!!

It's been a long time since I published last time... but here I'm with a new animation! This time, I used various techniques all of them mixed like armatures, dupliverts, arrays...

The truth is actually, the project was finished before I started with the new project of the space. But, for multiple reasons, I didn't render the images until yesterday. So, here you've got my mechanic arm robot. As you can see, the animation doesn't seem so complicated, because it's just to loop one cycle of the cylinder... but anyway, it wasn't so easy like it seems. First of all, because, it was my first time that I designed one conveyor belt. But I followed some tutorials in Youtube and at the end it wasn't so difficult. Maybe, the hardest part in that task was to found a good tutorial. But without doubt, the biggest challenge of this project was to create the trick to obtain a continuous cycle of the chain. And some people will wonder, why do a trick instead of putting a lot of cylinders? The answer it's very easy. Just, for use less resources in order to gain time in the final render.

Basically, the trick is to move only one cylinder with the mechanic arm, and when disappears behind the camera, replace it ones again in the same position of the next cylinder that is going to be carried. All the rest cylinders are only, for the visual effect. So, actually, only one cylinder is transported and the rest is moving forward and backwards.

The creation of the trick gave me some problems, such as, the use of the arrays in cyclic animation (the textures didn't match some times, especially in the replacement frame) or I had to synchronize the movement of the conveyor belts with the machine work cycle to give time to the transported cylinder finishes the entire cycle (disappear and appear in each position).

As you can see, it's my first post in english (cost me a lot to write!!). I'm writing like that, to internationalize the blog and in honor to my friend, Sebastian Palacios, that's who encouraged me to do.
